Diplomat is the combination of the best genetics that Rockspring has to offer, being the combination of four generations of linear appraised Excellent does. There are ADGA National Champions on both sides of his pedigree, who are structurally sound and productive as aged does. The longevity in these doe lines is superb with productive does that hold together, lasting to 12 and 13 years of age. The maternal grandam, GCH Rockspring Dem Diana Daffodil 3*M 5-03 91 (VVEE) was reappraised EX90 at nine years of age! His dam, GCH Rockspring Vin Daffy Dandelion 4*M 5-03 92 (EEEE), is the 1998 ADGA National Champion and 2003 ADGA Reserve National Champion. Dandy also won the High Lifetime Milk and Butterfat Awards at the 2003 ADGA National Show. She was 1st place Three Year-Old in 1998, 1st place 5-6 Year-Old in 2001 and 1st place Aged Doe as an eight year-old in 2003.
Diplomat's sire is the son of the 2000 ADGA Reserve National Champion, GCH Rockspring DB Debra Dutchess 3*M 5-03 91 (VEEE). Dutchess was the 1st place Five Year-old at the 1998 ADGA National Show, 1st place Aged Doe in 2000 and 2nd place Aged Doe in 2001 at eight years of age. His sire's grandam, GCH Rockspring Pulsar Dixie Debra 2*M 5-03 90 (VEEE), was the 1993 ADGA National Best Udder.
Diplomat himself is extremely stylish with very correct feet and legs, being especially straight in the foreleg and well angulated in the rear. He is level over the topline and well sprung in the rib with a open escutcheon area. Based on his structural correctness and remarkable pedigree we should see his progeny continuing the Rockspring National Show winning legacy.
One of his daughters, Purple Thistle Dark Blend, was 2nd place Junior Yearling at the 2009 ADGA National Show. ~ Ann Weikel
